Work This Way program delivered by Elaine 
If you are a regular visitor, you will have met Elaine working on one of her many roles in our Centre. An example is that, in partnership with Port Phillip Community Group, Elaine has developed and is delivering the new Work This Way training program with 12 trainees taking part in a 20 week return to employment preparation project.  Elaine’s experience in group leadership and community engagement is providing an enjoyable and meaningful program for the participants.  Thank you Elaine.
 

More about Work This Way
We are always excited when we get the opportunity to support people who are keen to develop their skills and confidence.   Work This Way is designed to empower people who have been entrenched in unemployment and have a significant desire to re enter the workforce.  We offer introductory training in Hospitality and an introduction to horticulture practices and nursery procedures.  With relationships with local employers we are confident that we can support participants into meaningful employment.  This program is in partnership with our good friends at the Port Phillip Community Group

 Foodbank Victoria (90 years young!) invited us to participate in the making of a short documentary to showcase an organisation that utilises their services and delivers the produce to the community by way of a meal.  Foodbank selected our centre as we have remained open throughout COVID-19, providing a 2 course take away meal.  The program would not be possible if it weren’t for organisations including Foodbank Victoria, Secondbite, Ralph’s Meats in South Melbourne Market and the City of Port Phillip.  Plus our regular volunteers! The documentary,
“Open House Community Meal”,  will be available on the Foodbank Victoria Website and a short version will be provided to us to add to our new website.  Check it out at www.ccm.org.au
